We had a fantastic girls trip and stayed Casa La Delizia in Lucca for a week. Debora Del Sonno of Lucca Holiday Homes met us when we arrived along with Alice, who was our personal chef later in the week and also stocked our fridge and pantry. Helen, the owner of the apartment, was always available downstairs in the bakery. It is the best bakery in town and the smell of coffee and pastries is wonderful to wake up to in the morning. It is a very comfortable 3 bedroom, two routeup-to-date bathroom apartment with a large living area and a large modern kitchen. There is also a beautiful terrace. It is a great location in the center of Lucca, between Piazza Michele and Piazza Napoleone.
We were them for the Luminara di Santa Croce which was an amazing experience, with candles lit on buildings all along the procession route; and Casa La Delizia is ideally situated to walk to St Michael’s on the route. And it’s not far to Portofino, Chianti, Cinque Terre, and Florence. You can’t miss staying at Casa La Delizia!

Debora, thank you for the lovely stay in Lucca. Casa La Delizia was the perfect apartment for our family adventure with plenty of space for all six of us. It was very comfortable, very convenient! We enjoyed coming and going through the inner courtyard to access the apartment, it made us feel like we lived in Lucca ever so briefly or at least knew a secret or two :) The apartment was lovely but the terrace overlooking the courtyard was the icing on the cake. Speaking of which, thank you for the tasty goodies that awaited us when we arrived. The almond cake was a real treat!
Thank you as well for your help in all manner of concerns, especially getting us all tucked in on the 23rd before the last of the summer concerts kicked off. One last thing, thanks for your recommendation of Paola for our many excursions. She was very easy to work with and was a pleasure on our guided tour of the towns of Cinque Terre.
Good health and happiness to you and yours.
With much appreciation,
The Hill Gang

I have not had the chance to write to you to thank you for all of your efforts on our behalf. The experience was perfect, your staff delightful and helpful, and the apartment perfect for our family. The way you run your rental business is commendable. The fact that we did not pay until arrival except for a small deposit and that we had no security deposit, and pastries on arrival made the whole experience terrific.
We went to two other apartments while in Italy. Neither treated us very well. (Milan and Venice) Everyone in our group own rental properties so we respect people’s property and treat it like our own. I am still fighting to get back a 250 euro deposit from one on the apartments.
Only one comment. The owner information almost apologizes for maybe not having all the comforts of home. We said it exceeded all expectations. Location, layout, equipment, space, and comfort. The fact that you and your assistant made yourselves available was an added bonus. Our son’s command of the Italian language gave us a leap forward on planning and activities. We also visited absolutely fantastic little restaurants and vineyards up on the hills near Monticarlo.
Again, you have my thanks and recommendation. Your property owners are lucky to have you. We had a great time in Italy and Lucca was a perfect location.
Goodbye until next time.

My husband and I stayed 6 weeks in Casa La Delizia in the heart of the historical district in Lucca. We had a wonderful time, and that was helped in large part by the excellent service we received from Debora Del Sonno of Lucca Holiday Homes and Paola, her assistant. We would definitely use them again for return trips to Lucca. The owner of the apartment, Helen, has created a wonderful 3 bedroom, two bathroom oasis in a 500 year old building right in the center of Lucca, directly between Piazza Michele and Piazza Napoleone. The apartment was newly re-done and the bathrooms were large and up-to-date. The kitchen was also beautiful and perfect for people who love to cook. We had a professional chef come in twice (organized by Debora and Paola) to give pasta/full dinner cooking lessons to our adult children and our guests. We used the beautiful terrace everyday, and enjoyed the flowers and the fresh herb garden, which we were allowed to use for cooking.
Paola and Debora also organized a vineyard trip with transportation into the countryside of Lucca, which was a highlight of our trip here. Debora provided a very complete notebook upon arrival giving all of the information you need to live in Lucca, i.e. instructions to walk to the local food and wine shops, the grocery store, museums, stores, restaurant reviews, doctors, hospitals, and all sorts of sides trips and "things to do" in Lucca.
Helen, the apartment owner, was available to us anytime we had a question about the apartment or appliances, as her wonderful bakery was directly downstairs. Everyday we were greeted with the smells of fresh pastry and coffee, and we purchased pastry there regularly as it is one of the most popular and beautiful "old world" bakeries in town.
We were seeking a truly authentic Tuscan living experience in a small town, and that is exactly what we got. Lucca is small enough to be slow-paced, and large enough to have many things to do and see. It is also centrally located and has excellent train and bus transportation to Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Assisi, and this year several stages of the Giro d'Italia. We loved our Lucchese experience!

The apartment was Holiday Central (Christmas and New Year's) for my children and grandchildren. What a memorable experience! Debora's excellent attention to logistical detail leaves no room for doubt or uncertainty: everything was arranged perfectly, even a pick-up van to bring the family from the Pisa Airport. The lovely, luxurious apartment (and wonderfully warm!) was beautifully appointed for Christmas, including a little live tree, an enormous poinsettia plant, and amazing goodies from our baker host. What a splendid welcome, what a special Lucca experience for three generations of a grateful family. The owner took special care - during her busy, busy holiday baking season - to make herself known and offer warm words of welcome and the offer to do anything necessary to make our stay enjoyable. Even our housekeeper's visit was a charming and festive occasion. This is a perfect property, perfectly located and wonderfully accommodating for the comfort and enjoyment of guests. There can be no more delightful place for a special holiday in Lucca. Thank you Debora, thank you Helen. Complimenti.

This property has it all! It is really well located, handy to everything, has plenty of room, a terrace, class and great kitchen....that has all a foodie would want for cooking up local produce into a feast.
The website info was extremely accurate.
Just makes one want to return!
Debora's communication was faultlessly thorough and Paola's handover was excellent....and they were both so friendly. The information in the folder re restaurants etc was invaluable and with great recommendations.

We had a really lovely time in Lucca and found our apartment very comfortable. The weather was exceedingly sunny and hot, and it was a big relief to come home at the end of each day's sightseeing to cool air and marble floors. But the mornings were cool enough to enjoy breakfast on the balcony (sometimes we had it on the street below at the bakery, where the staff was very friendly despite our minimal Italian and their minimal English!). I highly recommend Debora's rental assistance and Casa La Delizia.

We had the most wonderful stay at your apt. The apt was so beautiful and accomadating, that it spoiled us for our other places that we stayed. We continued with a week in Siena and a week in Rome. The units we stayed in were nothing like the unit in Lucca. We hold the Lucca apt in the highest scale, nothing else compares. Thank you again and we surely look forward to another return visit. Everything was top of the line and very well taken care of.
Thank you again,Claire Baillie

I stayed in this apartment for two weeks in May and would highly recommend it.The apartment was spatious and comfortable ,very well equipped and as one would expect for such an apartment immaculately clean. It has a great location being right inside the city walls making shops and restaurants etc.easily accessible.I was holidaying on my own but I never felt lonely as the owners' Pastry shop is just next door to the property. When I arrived at the apartment there was a wonderful cake and biscuits to greet me.It became my home away from home and I hope to return again next year.!!!

I stayed at this divine apartment with my husband, teenage daughter, my sister and her husband. We have come away with the most amazing memories. From the moment we arrived in Lucca we were made to feel most welcome - firstly from Debora the agent who was extremely obliging and then the owners who had very kindly left us some amazing cakes and biscuits. The amenities in the apartment were second to none, with everything provided; we wanted for nothing. The actual decor was simply divine and very tasteful. We have already told many of our friends and have sent them links to the website. We definitely will return in the future.
